Mondelez International, Inc. Class A (MDLZ)
Nasdaq Market Closed
Mondelez International, Inc. is a global snacks company with a portfolio built around biscuits, chocolate, gum, candy, and selected beverage, cheese, and grocery products. The business was created as an independent company after the 2012 separation of Kraft Foods’ North American grocery operations, leaving Mondelez with a more internationally focused mix of snack brands and growth markets.
The company owns some of the best-known names in packaged food, including Oreo, Chips Ahoy, Cadbury, Milka, Toblerone, Halls, Trident, and other regional brands. Biscuits represent its largest category, followed by chocolate, giving Mondelez strong positions in product areas where brand loyalty, distribution reach, and marketing investment matter. Its products are sold through supermarkets, convenience stores, discounters, e-commerce channels, and traditional retail outlets across both developed and emerging economies.
Mondelez generates revenue across a diversified geographic base. Europe is a major contributor, North America remains an important market, and developing markets account for a significant share of sales. This global footprint gives the company exposure to rising snack consumption in emerging economies while also tying results to currency movements, local consumer spending, commodity costs, and retail competition.
As a listed consumer staples company, Mondelez is often viewed through the lens of brand strength, pricing power, margin management, and innovation in snacking formats. The company competes with multinational food groups as well as local snack producers, and its strategy centers on using scale, advertising, product renovation, and acquisitions to defend category leadership and expand in high-growth regions. Its distinctive appeal lies in the combination of everyday snack demand and a portfolio of brands with worldwide recognition.
