BOB (Build on Bitcoin) (BOB)

The project uses a hybrid chain model that combines Bitcoin’s settlement assurances with Ethereum-style programmability. This design is intended to give developers and users access to smart-contract functionality while keeping Bitcoin at the centre of the system. BOB supports a BTCFi vision in which Bitcoin liquidity can be deployed across lending, vaults, swaps, and other financial applications more easily than on Bitcoin’s base layer alone.

A major part of BOB’s approach is interoperability. Its gateway infrastructure is designed to let users move from BTC into other assets or deposit into DeFi strategies across multiple chains through simplified, intent-based transactions. The project also highlights work around Bitcoin rollups, BitVM-related research, and native Bitcoin bridge concepts, all of which aim to reduce reliance on wrapped BTC models over time.

BOB also develops vault products that package Bitcoin yield strategies into more accessible formats, using curators and custody arrangements to manage risk and execution. The project is positioned within the growing BTCFi sector, where teams compete to bring lending, liquidity, and structured yield to the world’s largest crypto asset.
