GUSD is a yield-bearing crypto investment product connected to the Gate ecosystem. It is designed for users who want exposure to relatively stable returns while keeping the ability to trade the position or use it as collateral within supported venues. Rather than functioning as a conventional cryptocurrency with its own independent monetary policy, GUSD acts as a certificate representing a user’s allocation into a structured yield product.

Users can mint GUSD by staking supported stablecoins such as USDT or USDC. The product is described as principal-protected, with redemption back into USDT or USDC at a 1:1 ratio, subject to applicable fees and platform terms. Holding GUSD does not give the holder ownership of the underlying assets that generate the yield; it represents the value of the investment position and the right to redeem according to the product’s rules.

The return profile is linked to several revenue and yield sources. These may include income from the Gate ecosystem, tokenized real-world assets such as treasury-style instruments, and stablecoin-backed yield strategies. The annual percentage rate is not fixed: it adjusts dynamically as underlying revenues and market conditions change. This gives GUSD a role similar to a tradable, yield-accruing stablecoin product, aiming to smooth returns across stronger and weaker crypto market cycles.

GUSD sits at the intersection of stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, and exchange-based structured products. Its main appeal is the combination of daily reward distribution, collateral utility, and redemption mechanics, though users remain exposed to platform, product, liquidity, fee, and counterparty risks.
