Request (REQ)
Request is a blockchain payment and invoicing project built around the REQ utility token. The network is designed to let individuals, companies, and applications create payment requests that can be shared, tracked, and settled without relying on a traditional payment intermediary. It originated on Ethereum and uses public blockchain infrastructure to record payment-related data in a way that can support audit trails, accounting workflows, and invoice management.
The core idea behind Request is that a payer receives a clear, verifiable request for funds and then initiates the payment directly. This push-payment model reduces the need for merchants or counterparties to collect sensitive bank or card details. A request can include an amount, recipient address, currency information, and invoice-style terms, turning a simple payment prompt into a more complete business document.
REQ plays a role in the operation of the Request Network, including network fees and economic mechanisms connected to usage. As an ERC-20 token, it is compatible with Ethereum wallets and infrastructure, which helps it integrate with broader decentralized finance and Web3 tools.
Request is positioned less as a consumer coin and more as a payments infrastructure layer for crypto-native invoicing, business settlement, and financial record keeping. Its distinctive focus is the combination of decentralized payment requests, documentation, and compliance-aware accounting use cases, rather than simply transferring value from one wallet to another.
