Frankencoin (ZCHF)

ZCHF is issued through an overcollateralized lending model rather than through a conventional bank-deposit structure. Users can mint the token by locking eligible collateral, including real-world asset-linked collateral where supported by the protocol. The system is designed to remain decentralized and does not depend on a central issuer promising direct redemption at a fixed price.

A distinctive feature of Frankencoin is its oracle-free approach. Many collateralized stablecoin systems rely on external price feeds to determine collateral values and trigger liquidations. Frankencoin instead uses market-based mechanisms and governance processes intended to reduce reliance on third-party oracle infrastructure. This design aims to limit oracle manipulation risk while keeping the stablecoin transparent and verifiable on-chain.
