Arbor also runs an Agency Business, which originates and services loans under government-sponsored and federal housing finance programs, including multifamily lending channels associated with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other agency platforms. This business provides fee income and servicing revenue, helping balance the more investment-driven nature of its structured loan portfolio.

As a mortgage REIT, Arbor’s performance is closely linked to spreads, funding costs, borrower repayment activity, collateral quality, and the health of rental housing markets. Its emphasis on multifamily lending gives it exposure to a large and institutionally important area of US real estate, while its structured finance capabilities allow it to pursue higher-yielding opportunities than traditional agency-only lenders.
