Alta Equipment (ALTG)

Alta’s business is organised around three main areas. The Material Handling segment sells, rents, and services lift trucks and related warehouse equipment for customers in logistics, manufacturing, distribution, and retail supply chains. This business benefits from recurring parts and maintenance demand, as customers rely on uptime for day-to-day operations.

The Construction Equipment segment provides heavy and compact machinery used in infrastructure, building, roadwork, site preparation, and other construction activities. Alta represents equipment brands across multiple US markets, with operations spanning states including Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Virginia, and the New England region. The segment generates revenue from equipment sales as well as rental fleets, repairs, and product support.

Alta also operates a Master Distribution segment focused on environmental processing equipment, supported by sub-dealers across the United States and Canada. This gives the company exposure to specialised markets such as material recycling, waste handling, and aggregate processing.

What distinguishes Alta is its integrated dealership model. Equipment sales can be cyclical, but service, parts, rentals, and fleet management create ongoing customer relationships after the initial purchase.
