Digi operates through two main business areas. Its IoT Products & Services segment supplies original equipment manufacturers, enterprises, and public-sector customers with secure connectivity equipment and platforms that support industrial automation, transportation, energy, healthcare, retail, and other connected-device use cases. This segment represents the larger part of the business and gives Digi exposure to long-term demand for machine-to-machine communication and edge networking.

The company’s IoT Solutions segment includes SmartSense and its managed network-as-a-service activities. SmartSense focuses on condition monitoring and workflow tools, such as wireless temperature tracking, environmental monitoring, employee task management, and compliance-related services. These offerings are used by customers that need to protect perishable goods, maintain operating standards, or document conditions across multiple locations.

Digi generates most of its revenue in the United States, while also selling into Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other international markets. Its competitive position rests on combining rugged connectivity equipment with software, services, and support that help customers deploy and maintain IoT networks at scale.
