ITT (ITT)
NYSE Market Closed
ITT Inc. is a diversified industrial manufacturer with a long corporate history and a current focus on engineered components for transportation, industrial, and aerospace markets. The company traces its origins to International Telephone & Telegraph, founded in 1920, but today’s ITT is the result of decades of restructuring and spin-offs that transformed the business from a broad conglomerate into a more focused industrial company.
ITT’s operations are built around specialised products that are often used in critical systems. Its portfolio includes automotive brake pads and other motion technologies, industrial pumps and valves, sealing and vibration-management products, connectors, regulators, and components used in aerospace and defence applications. These products are typically sold into markets where performance, durability, safety, and engineering support matter more than commodity pricing.
The company serves customers in North America, Europe, Asia, and other regions, giving it exposure to global industrial production, vehicle platforms, infrastructure spending, energy applications, and aerospace demand. In automotive markets, ITT supplies technologies used by vehicle manufacturers and aftermarket customers. In industrial process markets, its pumps and flow-control products support applications such as chemical processing, energy, and general industry. Its connect and control technologies support harsh-environment uses, including aircraft, defence systems, and industrial equipment.
What distinguishes ITT is the combination of niche engineering, established customer relationships, and exposure to several end markets rather than reliance on a single product category. For investors, the company is generally viewed as an industrial components business tied to manufacturing cycles, transportation demand, and long-term needs for efficient, reliable motion and flow-control technologies.
