News Corporation Class B Common Stock represents the voting class of shares in News Corp, a global media and information services company with operations concentrated in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The company owns a portfolio of well-known news brands, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, the New York Post, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Australian, the Herald Sun, and The Daily Telegraph.
News Corp’s business extends beyond newspapers and digital journalism. Its Dow Jones unit supplies business news, market data, risk and compliance tools, and professional information services to financial institutions, corporations, and individual subscribers. The company also owns HarperCollins, one of the world’s major book publishers, with a catalogue spanning fiction, nonfiction, education, and children’s titles.
A significant part of News Corp’s value is tied to digital real estate. The company holds a majority stake in REA Group, Australia’s leading property listings platform, and owns Move, the operator of Realtor.com in the United States. These businesses connect agents, advertisers, buyers, sellers, and renters through online marketplaces.
News Corp has been reshaping its portfolio to focus on scalable digital, subscription, publishing, and property information assets. In April 2025, it sold its 65% interest in Foxtel, the Australian pay-TV and streaming provider, to DAZN at a valuation of more than seven times Foxtel’s EBITDA. The Class B stock is relevant to investors focused on governance because it carries voting rights, unlike the company’s Class A shares.
