The company’s scale is its defining feature. KFC is Yum’s largest international engine, with a particularly broad presence outside the United States. Pizza Hut gives the company a global pizza platform, while Taco Bell remains a major growth brand, especially in the US and select overseas markets. Yum also invests in digital ordering, loyalty, delivery partnerships, and restaurant technology intended to improve franchisee productivity and customer convenience.

Yum traces its origins to the restaurant businesses spun out of PepsiCo in 1997. Today, it is best understood as a global brand owner and franchisor whose results reflect consumer demand for affordable restaurant meals, the health of franchise networks, and the company’s ability to keep its concepts relevant across different cultures and price points.
