OriginTrail (TRAC)

The project addresses a problem that has become more important as AI systems spread across business and consumer markets: information needs to be discoverable, but also trustworthy. OriginTrail aims to make data verifiable at the source, helping users and applications distinguish authenticated knowledge from manipulated or unreliable content. This makes the network relevant to areas such as supply chain traceability, compliance, healthcare data, enterprise knowledge management, and tokenized real-world assets.

OriginTrail is supported by NeuroWeb, a blockchain environment associated with the Polkadot ecosystem, and its tools are developed around the idea of an open, decentralized knowledge layer. The project has been linked with enterprise and institutional collaborations involving organizations such as the British Standards Institution, SCAN, Swiss Federal Railways, the World Federation of Hemophilia, Oracle, Walmart-related supply chain initiatives, and EU-backed innovation programmes.

OriginTrail was founded by Žiga Drev, Tomaž Levak, and Branimir Rakić, with Trace Labs serving as a key development organization behind the ecosystem. Its roadmap includes expanding the scale of the Decentralized Knowledge Graph and enabling AI agents to query and contribute to verified knowledge. This positions OriginTrail as a crypto project focused less on payments and more on trusted data infrastructure for an AI-driven internet.
