  • Per Donald Trump, the crypto space is growing rapidly, and no one is doing anything about it.
  • Trump claims cryptos could become an explosion to the likes the world has never seen.
  • Before this, Trump tweeted that cryptos are not money and are highly volatile.

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, reiterated his negative stance on crypto, saying they are a very dangerous thing. He shared his sentiments during an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo earlier this week. When asked about his wife’s NFT project, he said she would do great because she has a great imagination.

Speaking about his broader outlook on the crypto space, Trump said,

He added that his negative attitude on crypto is because he does not want to embrace other forms of currencies, which could become an explosion to likes of which the world has never seen. Trump further noted that the rise of cryptocurrencies would make the big tech explosion look like baby stuff.

This news comes after Trump first shared his negative stance on crypto in 2019, saying,

Anthony Scaramucci, a crypto proponent who worked as the White House Communications Director, argued that advisors crafted this tweet for Trump to make him take a stance on crypto. This tweet is no longer online because Twitter banned Trump in January this year. However, with Trump reiterating his stance on crypto, it is evident that he wrote the tweet without any influence.

Melania Trump launches NFT project on Solana

While Trump has maintained his critical stance on crypto, Melania Trump appears to have noticed the potential of the crypto sector after launching an NFT project on the Solana blockchain in the past week. Dubbed Melania’s Vision, her NFT project went live on December 16 and is available for purchase until December 31.

According to her, this project reflects her passion for the arts. She added that she would use the proceeds from the NFT sale to support children through her Be Best initiative. Specifically, Melania seeks to help children in foster homes learn computer science skills, such as programming and software development.

Notably, she also launched an NFT platform through which she seeks to release NFTs regularly. On top of this, Melania intends to host a one-of-a-kind auction, which she claims will go down in history, on January 11, 2022.
