Enjin Coin (ENJ)
Enjin Coin (ENJ) is the native utility and governance asset of the Enjin ecosystem, a blockchain platform focused on NFTs, gaming items, and other digital assets. Enjin began as a gaming community company before moving into blockchain infrastructure, where it became closely associated with early NFT adoption and the ERC-1155 multi-token standard. The project’s core idea is to give developers tools for creating digital items that can be owned, transferred, traded, and integrated across games, applications, and online communities.
The Enjin ecosystem includes the Enjin Blockchain, a proof-of-stake network built with Substrate and designed specifically for NFTs and gaming-related assets. It also offers the Enjin Wallet, the NFT.io marketplace, developer APIs and SDKs, and Enjin Beam, a QR-based distribution tool for sending NFTs to users. Together, these products support asset creation, marketplace activity, wallet custody, and in-app integration, making Enjin a full-stack platform rather than a single-purpose token project.
ENJ is used within this network for transaction fees, staking, governance participation, and the creation of blockchain assets. A distinctive feature of Enjin’s model is the concept of ENJ-backed NFTs, where creators can embed ENJ into an item so it has a provable reserve value on-chain. Holders may be able to destroy, or “melt,” such assets to recover the underlying ENJ, linking digital collectibles to a measurable token base.
Enjin has worked with game studios, technology companies, and app developers over the years, with a long-term focus on player-owned economies and practical NFT infrastructure for mainstream digital experiences.
