Geode Chain (GEODE)

The network uses a Nominated Proof of Stake model and the BABE block production mechanism, with GRANDPA providing finality. This architecture is associated with the Substrate framework and is designed to separate block creation from final confirmation. According to the project, Geode’s base layer supports up to 1,000 transactions per second, offers low fees, and targets finality of about six seconds, with additional scalability expected as layer 2 networks are added.

GEODE is the native asset of the ecosystem and is linked to activity across the chain and its applications. The project began in February 2022 and presents itself as an independent blockchain rather than a token issued solely on another network.

Geode’s planned and native app suite covers several everyday digital use cases. These include a social platform that emphasizes user-controlled feeds and advertising rewards, encrypted private messaging, peer-to-peer marketplace tools, resume and intellectual property registration features, surveys, a domain name service, and cross-chain decentralized app discovery. The ecosystem also includes concepts such as AI user agents that help users create accounts or navigate services, as well as on-chain, AI-driven gaming. This wide app-first approach is what distinguishes Geode Chain from many infrastructure-focused blockchain projects.
