Aprea Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing precision oncology treatments for patients whose cancers are driven by identifiable genetic vulnerabilities. The company’s work centres on small-molecule drug candidates designed to interfere with DNA damage response and cell-cycle control mechanisms that cancer cells often depend on for survival. By targeting these weaknesses, Aprea aims to create therapies that can attack tumour cells more selectively while limiting harm to normal tissue.
Its pipeline includes APR-1051, a WEE1 inhibitor being developed for biomarker-selected cancer populations. WEE1 is an important checkpoint kinase involved in regulating cell division, and inhibiting it may increase the susceptibility of cancer cells to DNA damage. Aprea is also advancing ATRN-119, also known as mosipasertib, an oral inhibitor of ATR, another key protein in the DNA damage response pathway. ATR inhibition is being explored across oncology because many tumours rely on this repair signalling to manage replication stress and genomic instability.
In addition to its clinical candidates, Aprea maintains earlier-stage research programs such as APR-1602, which broaden its approach to synthetic lethality and targeted cancer biology. As a listed stock, APRE gives investors exposure to a high-risk, research-driven oncology business where value depends heavily on clinical trial progress, regulatory outcomes, financing capacity, and the ability to demonstrate meaningful benefit in defined patient groups.
