First United Corp is a US community banking company that operates through First United Bank & Trust. The business serves individuals, small businesses, local organisations and commercial customers with a traditional mix of deposit, lending and advisory services. Its core banking products include checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, certificates of deposit, consumer loans, commercial loans, residential mortgages, home equity lines of credit and construction financing.
The company’s main source of revenue is its community banking operation, which earns interest income from loans and investment securities and fee income from customer services. First United focuses on relationship-based banking, a model in which local market knowledge and customer retention are important drivers of loan growth, credit quality and deposit gathering. Its borrowers include households, entrepreneurs, builders, professional firms and not-for-profit organisations.
First United also operates a wealth management segment, broadening its role beyond basic banking.
