Global Partners LP is a US master limited partnership focused on energy logistics, wholesale supply, and fuel distribution. The partnership buys, stores, transports, blends, and sells petroleum products and other fuels across a network that is concentrated in the Northeast, with assets that include bulk terminals, storage capacity, rail access, and marine and truck logistics. Its role is to connect refiners, producers, importers, retailers, and commercial users in markets where reliable fuel supply and terminal access are essential.
The company handles a broad range of products, including gasoline and blendstocks, diesel and heating oil, residual fuel, renewable fuels, crude oil, natural gas, and propane. Its terminal network supports distribution in states such as Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, and Vermont, while its wholesale operations serve independent dealers, wholesalers, and other counterparties.
Global Partners also operates in downstream retail through gasoline distribution and station operations, a segment that includes fuel supply to branded and unbranded stations as well as company-controlled convenience retail locations. This part of the business is an important revenue driver because it combines wholesale fuel economics with retail site operations and convenience store sales. The commercial segment supplies fuel and related services to businesses, government entities, and other large end users.
As a partnership, Global Partners is closely tied to fuel demand, regional supply patterns, wholesale margins, terminal utilization, and the performance of its retail network. Its distinctive position comes from combining midstream infrastructure with marketing and retail distribution in dense Northeastern fuel markets.
