HEICO (HEI)
NYSE Market Closed
HEICO Corporation is an aerospace, defense, and electronics supplier known for specialized engineered products, replacement aircraft parts, and mission-critical components. The company serves commercial airlines, aircraft maintenance providers, original equipment manufacturers, defense agencies, space programs, medical technology companies, and industrial customers. Its business is organized mainly around two operating groups: Flight Support and Electronic Technologies.
The Flight Support Group is one of the largest independent producers of FAA-approved replacement parts for commercial aircraft. These parts are typically used in maintenance and overhaul work, giving airlines an alternative source of supply for certain components after an aircraft enters service. HEICO also provides repair, distribution, and specialty manufacturing capabilities across the aviation aftermarket. This business benefits from long aircraft service lives, recurring maintenance needs, and the pressure on airlines to manage operating costs without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.
The Electronic Technologies Group produces niche components and subsystems used in aerospace, defense, space, communications, medical, and other high-reliability applications. Its products can include power electronics, sensors, microwave and electro-optical components, simulation equipment, and parts used in targeting, guidance, and communications systems. Many of these products are low-volume but technically demanding, giving HEICO exposure to programs where reliability and certification matter more than commodity pricing.
A defining feature of HEICO’s strategy is disciplined acquisition. The company regularly buys businesses in adjacent aerospace, defense, and electronic component markets, often retaining entrepreneurial management teams while adding scale, capital, and customer access. This approach has helped HEICO build a diversified portfolio of specialized businesses with strong aftermarket exposure, recurring demand, and attractive margins across both commercial and government end markets.
