Motorola Solutions (MSI)
NYSE Market Open
Motorola Solutions, Inc. is a communications technology company built around the needs of organisations that cannot afford unreliable information flows. Its core market is public safety, where police, fire, emergency medical services and other government agencies use its land mobile radios, radio network infrastructure and related services for mission-critical voice and data communications.
The company’s portfolio extends beyond traditional radio systems. Motorola Solutions also provides command centre software, computer-aided dispatch, records management, video security, access control, body-worn and in-car camera systems, and analytics tools that help agencies and enterprises coordinate response, monitor facilities and manage incidents. These offerings are designed to work together, giving customers a connected platform for communications, situational awareness and evidence management.
Government customers account for most of the business, but Motorola Solutions also serves schools, hospitals, utilities, transportation operators and private companies that need secure communications and surveillance capabilities. Its products are used across the United States and in more than 100 countries, reflecting the global demand for resilient public safety and enterprise security systems.
The company’s position is distinctive because it combines long-established radio expertise with newer software and video technologies. Many customers operate in regulated or high-stakes environments, where reliability, interoperability and long product lifecycles matter as much as price. As a result, Motorola Solutions is less a consumer electronics brand than a specialist provider of critical communications infrastructure, security tools and managed services for agencies and organisations responsible for protecting people, property and essential operations.
