OFS Credit (OCCIN)

The Series E preferred stock is distinct from OFS Credit’s common shares. Preferred shares generally sit ahead of common equity in a company’s capital structure for dividend payments and liquidation preference, but they typically offer less participation in upside gains. This security carries a stated 5.25% rate and a term structure due in 2026, making it more income-oriented than growth-oriented. Its market value can still fluctuate with interest rates, credit spreads, issuer-specific risk and investor demand for closed-end fund preferred securities.

OFS Credit’s portfolio is built around structured credit instruments. CLOs hold pools of corporate loans and divide cash flows among tranches with different levels of seniority and risk. The company may also invest in leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, stressed or distressed credit opportunities and other credit-related instruments.

For investors, OCCIN provides exposure to the preferred capital of a CLO-focused closed-end fund rather than direct ownership of a broad operating business. Its appeal is tied mainly to income characteristics and the issuer’s ability to maintain asset coverage and meet preferred dividend obligations, while risks stem from credit market stress, leverage, loan defaults and changes in the value of OFS Credit’s underlying portfolio.
