Tempest Therapeutics (TPST)

The company’s lead product candidate is amezalpat, previously known as TPST-1120. Amezalpat is being evaluated for hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common form of liver cancer, and has completed a Phase 2 study in the first-line setting. Tempest has positioned this program as a potential complement to existing cancer treatment regimens, including therapies that work through immune checkpoint inhibition and anti-angiogenic mechanisms.

Tempest’s second clinical-stage small molecule, TPST-1495, is designed to block prostaglandin signaling through EP2 and EP4 receptors. The company plans to study this candidate in familial adenomatous polyposis, an inherited condition that can cause numerous colorectal polyps and carries a high risk of developing colorectal cancer. As a development-stage biotech, Tempest does not yet have an approved commercial product, and its valuation is closely tied to clinical trial progress, regulatory milestones, financing capacity and the competitive landscape in oncology. Its common stock therefore represents exposure to a focused cancer-drug pipeline with meaningful scientific opportunity but substantial development risk.
