TORM also has a marine engineering segment, which supports technical and operational capabilities connected to vessel maintenance, efficiency, and maritime services. However, the company is primarily evaluated by investors as a tanker owner and operator.

A distinctive feature of TORM is its concentration on clean petroleum product transportation rather than diversified dry bulk, container, or crude shipping. This makes the company particularly exposed to changes in refinery dislocation, sanctions-driven trade-route shifts, inventory movements, and regional fuel imbalances. Its earnings can benefit when disruptions or longer voyage distances tighten vessel availability, while weaker freight markets or increased vessel supply can pressure margins.
