Its portfolio includes well-known hospitality brands and club offerings associated with Marriott Vacation Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, Grand Residences by Marriott, and The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club. The company’s resorts are concentrated in the United States, with additional properties and operations in international leisure markets including Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia Pacific.
The company’s main business is vacation ownership, often referred to as timeshare. Customers purchase interests or points that provide access to resort accommodations and related travel experiences. Marriott Vacations Worldwide also generates revenue from resort management, membership fees, financing provided to buyers, rental activity, and ancillary services linked to its ownership base.
Its operations are reported primarily through Vacation Ownership and Exchange & Third-Party Management. The Vacation Ownership segment is the largest contributor and includes the sale of ownership products, financing, resort operations, and management services. The exchange and third-party management business gives owners and members additional flexibility by enabling access to broader vacation networks and affiliated resorts.
Marriott Vacations Worldwide benefits from the strength of major hospitality brands, a large owner community, and demand for leisure travel experiences. At the same time, the business is cyclical and can be influenced by consumer confidence, travel demand, financing conditions, interest rates, and discretionary spending. For investors, the company provides exposure to branded vacation ownership, resort management, and the broader leisure travel market.
