Ripple price (XRP/USD) swings between gains and losses amid thinner volumes
The Ripple price (XRP/USD) has seen significant fluctuations, swinging between gains and losses over the past 24 hours.
The third-largest digital currency on the market experienced some mixed trading on Monday, with its price first rising to a five-day high, only to lose all of its gains by the end of the day. The coin enjoyed a strong uptick in the late morning session, which allowed its price to make a seemingly convincing break above the $0.37 mark. However, XRP pulled back quickly after reaching an intraday high of $0.377. Eventually, the coin closed the session at $0.364, down from its opening level of $0.368.
Just like yesterday, Ripple’s performance on Tuesday has been far from consistent. The digital coin had a poor start to the session, with its price falling to as low as $0.360 in the early hours of trading. XRP has since managed to recoup its losses, but its momentum has nevertheless been hindered by frequent price fluctuations. At the time of writing, the Ripple price was hovering around the level of its Monday close, according to data from digital currency tracker Coinmarketcap.
Meanwhile, Ripple’s market activity seems to be subdued today, with the coin’s 24-hour trading volume currently standing at just over $450 million. In comparison, the coin generated daily trading volume of nearly $500 million on Monday.
ZB.com has been the most popular destination for Ripple trading over the past 24 hours, as the crypto exchange has captured 10.8% of that volume.
In today’s trading, the Ripple price stood at $0.364, as of 13:15 GMT. The digital coin has lost 0.6% of its value in the past 24 hours, Coinmarketcap data shows. The coin’s total market capitalisation currently stands at $14.9 billion.
