  • Justin Bieber's recent Instagram story revealed logos of Ripple, MoneyGram, and Santander.
  • While Bieber's story does not indicate a partnership with any of the brands, it is still highly significant.
  • Bieber's massive online reach could help the mentioned brands in terms of exposure and increased usage.

The cryptocurrency sector has been putting tremendous amounts of effort into spreading the adoption of digital coins for over ten years now. While much was achieved during this time — and particularly in the last several years, following the ICO trend in 2016/2017, there is still a lot to be done.

This is why the cryptocurrency community appreciates any opportunity to increase awareness of the cryptocurrency space, as increased awareness and adoption usually also mean the growth of crypto prices. With that in mind, it is easy to understand why the crypto community highly appreciates the support of any celebrity.

The most recent case of this happened only yesterday, when Justin Bieber, a highly popular music sensation, published a story on Instagram featuring the likes of Ripple, MoneyGram, and Santander.

The logos of the three firms are clearly visible as part of the short video posted as his story, and they were first noticed by an XRP enthusiast and Twitter user known as Armend.

Of course, Bieber’s shoutout to Ripple does not mean that he has partnered up with the company, or that he has ties to it in any way. However, the massive size of his Instagram audience — currently 121 million followers — makes a Ripple mention a very big deal for the company.

It is clear to everyone that the times are changing, and that cryptocurrencies are no longer simply being brushed off and ignored. Celebrities have always been known as those who make trends happen simply by supporting them, and XRP seems to be entering the minds of several of them.

Ripple also made the news when it took part in a major $2.2 million investment round of a cybersecurity startup that focuses on biometrics. The company found the startup’s solution to be clever, well-thought-out, and apparently — worthy of its participation and investment.
