As the price of Bitcoin soars, so are cryptocurrency scams. In the past year alone, hundreds have been duped by con artists masquerading as operators and agents of automated Bitcoin trading platforms.

But we won’t generalize every platform and assume they’re all out to scam investors; we like to believe there are genuine platforms out there conducting honest business.

That is why when we came across the scam involving TV personality Phillip Schofield and trading tool Bitcoin Era, we decided to search for the truth and compile an objective report that can relied on.

Below is what we uncovered.

About Phillip Schofield

Phillip Bryan Schofield is a famous British TV personality with close to four decades of working on mainstream media. Schofield currently works for ITV and co-hosts This Morning and Dancing on Ice alongside Holly Willoughby.

The 57-year old Oldham, UK-born father of two gained national attention working for BBC between 1987 and 1993.

Throughout his media career, Schofield has been nominated and garnered various awards including during National Television Awards: Daytime Show (This Morning) in 2019 and Live Magazine Show (This Morning) in 2020.

There’s not much public information about his investment life but he is said to be worth about £8 million.

What is Bitcoin Era?

Bitcoin Era is hyped as a platform reserved for Bitcoin millionaires offering its members access to a trading tool with a performance accuracy rate of 99.4%. Founded during the 2017 Bitcoin boom, Bitcoin Era has grown its membership to a tune of 300,000 over the last three years.

The platform’s bot supposedly offers a 400% ROI each day. At least 35% of its investors are millionaires with the rest affording decent Bitcoin returns each day, according to Bitcoin Era.

To get started, you need to sign up on the platform and deposit a minimum of £250 in your Bitcoin trading account.

Has Phillip Schofield invested in or endorsed Bitcoin Era?

The claims about Schofield’s endorsement of Bitcoin Era are rampant on Facebook and Pinterest. However, as far as we could tell, there is no credible source of the rumour, consequently, we have reasons to believe the claims are lies created by 3rd party internet marketers looking to benefit from link clicks.

Why is the story so hyped?

Ethical reporting requires journalists to only publish credible and factual information. While some platforms have offered helpful information in this regard, quite a number are keen on benefiting from the hype created by a celebrity’s scandal.

Never at any one time did Schofield or Bitcoin Era publish an advert involving any form of endorsement or investment by the former. Of course, we appreciate the essence of democracy, but we believe there must be a balance between freedom to speak and write and slander or libel.
