Bitcoin scammers are at it again. This time luring unwary members of the public into signing up on various Bitcoin trading platforms using fake celebrity profiles and testimonials.

In this post, we take a look at a con-game involving Ant McPartlin, and whether or not he invested in Bitcoin Revolution, a Bitcoin auto-trading platform.

Anthony David "Ant" McPartlin is an English TV producer, rapper, singer, comedian, actor, and TV presenter born in 1975 in  Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. From his many talents, you can tell that he commands quite a following extending beyond the UK.

McPartlin is known to work alongside Declan Donnelly as co-presenters popularly referred to as Ant and Dec. Other than co-hosting various shows, the duo is famous for performing together as pop musicians PJ & Duncan, acting in the 2006 film Alien Autopsy.

McPartlin has received awards such as the British Academy Television Awards: Entertainment Programme (Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway) and the British Academy Television Awards: Live Event (The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration) for his remarkable contribution to the media industry.

What is Bitcoin Revolution?

Bitcoin Revolution is an automated Bitcoin trading system established to enhance the trading experience of investors primarily with capital but limited time and trading knowledge. The platform features a robot that oversees the whole trading process on behalf of the account holder, executing buys, holds, and sells automatically, with minimal input from the investor.

Once a user registers on the platform, they are required to make an initial deposit of at least £200 before they can start enjoying Bitcoin profits.

Bitcoin Revolution boasts of a built-in algorithm with more than 99% accuracy on all its trades, affording investors up to 20% daily returns on investments.

Did McPartlin endorse Bitcoin Revolution?

McPartlin has distanced himself from any endorsement of a Bitcoin trading platform. He has stated that he has zero interest in Bitcoin or its trading bots as an investment.

We perused the TV star’s social media accounts but could not find any direct or indirect postings indicating he had embraced the trading tool.

Why is the story trending?

A “juicy” story always trends especially when involving famous individuals. In this case, fake news sites and gossip blogs have been fueling the media coverage of this whole ordeal, mainly to earn click-through and signup commissions from the involved traders.

While alerting the public about an ongoing scandal sounds like a good course, we were concerned at how the same sites began a rumour that turned out to be one of the worst crypto scams. Fake trading sites were used in adverts and several other publications regarding the alleged endorsement, leading to loss of money by unsuspecting investors.

Since neither McPartlin nor Bitcoin Revolution published the endorsement rumour, one concluded that the whole scandal was manufactured by a group of greedy internet marketers.
