Conor McGregor has once more hit the headlines and this time around, not for his prowess in the boxing arena but over an alleged endorsement of Bitcoin Trader leading to massive losses by his fans.

The boxing and martial arts icon came out to strongly condemn the scammers while distancing himself from the endorsement allegation.

So where is the truth? Did the champ endorse the platform or not? Is he responsible for the losses suffered by thousands?

Who is Conor McGregor?

Born in Dublin, Ireland in July 1988, Conor Anthony McGregor is an Irish professional boxer and mixed martial artist. He is among the world’s renowned boxers and is remembered as having defeated the current world record holder Floyd Mayweather when he first began his boxing career.

McGregor has undoubtedly grown to become a household name in matters martial arts, earning him several titles with the latest being a January 2020 40-second long match between him and Donald Cerrone.

The champ is said to have developed a liking for the boxing arena at a very tender age, pitting him against his first boxing rival by the age of 12.

Bitcoin Revolution

Unless you’re new to the crypto trading world, chances are you’ve heard of Bitcoin Revolution. It is among the first Bitcoin auto traders to ever have hit the market. The platform is home to thousands of investors looking to pocket “easy” pickings off Bitcoin price fluctuations.

Developed by a team of experienced brokers, the tool is said to be running on a 99.4% accurate trading bot, thanks to its specialised algorithm. From what we could gather, Bitcoin Revolution promises easy pickings from the Bitcoin market for investors who rely on their robot, after putting in only a few minutes of work each day.

To get started, you’re required to register, make a minimum deposit of £200, and the system does the rest while you receive daily profits, Bitcoin Revolution claims.

Is the endorsement claim true?

McGregor commands a huge following both online and offline. For him to have made such a serious investment announcement, it wouldn’t be circulating in shady sites and YouTube channels.

He is on record warning fans worldwide to tread carefully online as con-artists are out to dupe gullible individuals using fake profiles of him as well as testimonials. His dad, Tony McGregor, has also cautioned his son’s followers against entertaining cons using the boxer’s name to lure investors into Bitcoin scams.

Why is the story on the media?

Where there is a celebrity scandal, you bet there will a lot of paparazzi sniffing around for anything out of the “ordinary”. And as it is, being involved in a scam that led to the loss of millions by innocent investors is nothing normal.

But we noticed an unusual hype around this story and a keen eye revealed how some internet marketers are making a kill from all the media buzz, thanks to affiliate programs and click-through ads.

We confirmed through his social media handles that McGregor never personally endorsed Bitcoin Revolution or any other Bitcoin platform for that matter. Neither did we find that Bitcoin Revolution themselves create the adverts.
