Binance announces the launch of its blockchain research institute

Binance‘s educational arm, Binance Academy, has announced yesterday that it launched a blockchain research institute in China. The institute’s name is Lingang Blockchain Technology and Industry Research Institute, also known as Lingang Research Institute.

According to the announcement, the institute is expected to become the hub for blockchain talent. Its goal is to speed up the application of blockchain and shape for further breakthroughs regarding this technology. It will also work on its integration with the AI, the IoT, big data, and other emerging technologies.

The initiative leader, Helen Hai, commented by saying that the blockchain revolution will completely alter the modern lifestyle. That includes the way people live, work, and even relate to one another. “Nevertheless, technology should work for people and it should lift humanity into a new collective and moral consciousness based sense of common destiny,” she said.

The growth of the Internet of Value

By establishing the institute, Binance Academy has started creating what it believes to be a leading think tank and research hub. It hopes to see the Institute contribute to major blockchain developments, and help the industry grow further.

In addition to that, it will also cultivate top blockchain talent, and more. Binance will achieve this by leveraging its blockchain ecosystem and industry resources, according to the announcement.

The Blockchain Research Institute‘s co-founder and Executive Chairman, Don Tapscott, will also have the title of ‘Honorary Dean’ at Lingang Research Institute. He said that blockchain technology represents the internet’s second era. He called it the Internet of Value, stating that it can allow people to build more productive and innovative organizations.

“Research, education, and skill development are all critical to moving forward, and we look forward to collaborating with Lingang Blockchain Academy in helping achieve this transformation in China,” he said.
