Gearing up to enter the Goguen era
McCann and McPherson will reportedly join Fredric Johnson, the technical project manager, and Steve Wagendorp, head of technical operations. This team will work together with EMURGO and IOHK as Cardano prepares to head into the Goguen era. The foundation further cited that the new appointments would help strengthen vital relationships within the ecosystem. On top of this, they are set to uphold strong technical links between the three Cardano entities.
Commenting on these appointments, Hinrich Pfeifer, the general secretary of the Cardano Foundation said,
“This year the Cardano Foundation is significantly expanding its capabilities by bringing top talent into key departments as we gear up for a busy second half of 2020. We are adding shortage and critical skills and will continue to do so. Mel and John’s appointments will enable the Foundation to serve third parties and exchanges better and are key for the advancement of Cardano.”
Per the announcement, McCann is located near Dublin, Ireland. He leads the technical integration initiatives to help boost the adoption of Cardano. Per the publication, he is responsible for guiding third-parties to incorporate the Cardano suite of products into their operations while meeting the highest industry standards. On top of this, he guides crypto exchanges, wallet providers, and other third parties in creating technical solutions using Cardano.
On the other hand, McPherson is based in Toronto, Canada and he leads the foundation’s relationships with exchanges. His role involves increasing the number of quality exchanges listing ADA.
