Charles Hoskinson: DOGE needs a code overhaul to survive the long term
- Charles Hoskinson, the creator of Cardano, once again urged Elon Musk to quickly fix Dogecoin.
- Hoskinson stated that DOGE needs a complete code overhaul in order to survive in the long term.
- He gave similar advice back in May when Musk revealed that he is working with DOGE developers.
Despite the fact that it has been months since Dogecoin (DOGE/USD) became the top-performing cryptocurrency of 2021, a lot of people are still in disbelief about it. Given that this is 8-year-old joke crypto, it is not surprising that many feel that way.
However, there are those who wish to see DOGE succeed, but they think that it simply isn’t capable of doing that, the way it is right now. One example is Charles Hoskinson, the creator of Cardano (ADA/USD), who once again noted recently that DOGE needs a severe makeover in order to have a hope of surviving in the long term.

Not only that, but he stressed that DOGE’s recent rise in value calls for immediate action, meaning immediate fixing.
Cardano CEO once again advises Musk to hurry
Hoskinson’s statements were aimed directly at Elon Musk, the world’s most popular billionaire, and certainly the richest and most popular man in crypto. Musk has become a major Dogecoin fan, and he contributed to its price surge several times, sometimes even through Twitter jokes.
Hoskinson said that DOGE requires a complete code overhaul that would make it similar to other assets, such as Solana.
This is also not the first time that Hoskinson noted that DOGE needs fixing. In May, he even gave advice on how to do it, once again directing it at Elon Musk.
Back then, he argued that DOGE needs a system similar to BTC and that a similar structure to Bitcoin’s would allow it to process 10,000 transactions per second. It should be mentioned that this advice was given in direct response to Musk’s question on how to fix and improve DOGE. Tesla CEO revealed that he is working with the DOGE devs and that they are looking for ideas and inspiration.
