  • Collectors see NFTs as a way to diversify their portfolios
  • Collection marries two markets: luxury goods and NFT
  • First edition of the collectible NFT series, featuring 1000 figurines, available at OpenSea on August 16

3Dcentralized art production studio STUDIO90ies is launching a collection of 12 highly realistic 3D figures, the SADBUNZ collection, in a tribute to sadness. The elements echo luxury collectibles, according to a press release sent exclusively to Invezz.

Later this month, they will become part of a virtual exhibition titled “IT IS ALL AROUND US”, which features prominent NFT artists showcased using Artgence 3D’s immersive technology. You can view it here.

Fusion of NFT adoption in the art industry and luxury goods market

SADBUNZ combines these two trends in a single product: the adoption of NFT in the art industry and the luxury good market. As the figurines spin, an exclusive soundtrack plays in the background of the luxury, revolving NFT product. STUDIO90ies developed the collection in partnership with experts to showcase the traits, which figurine and luxury goods markets would expect from a collector’s item.

More than a collectible

According to Guy-Jonathan Kazumba and Joy Katharina Lorck-Schierning, cofounders and managing directors of STUDIO90ies, the Sadbunz figurines reflect the melancholy of day-to-day life in the digital age, when we’ve never been more connected, but divided at the same time. The figurines’ creators, Pikazo 21 and Marley XXI, said:

The Sadbunz saga will begin with the first edition of the collectible NFT figurine series, which will feature 1000 figurines with unique qualities and varying rarities to gamify the user experience. It will be available exclusively at OpenSea starting on Monday, August 16.
