Gareth Bale, Welsh national and Real Madrid champion, is dropping a limited NFT collection in two forms on September 28th. Both will be available on Crypto.com, Invezz learned from a press release.

The first collection is in poster form and features images of Gareth throughout his career. A few of those NFTs will display his signature. The second is dedicated to one of the most memorable moments in the history of the game – his overhead kick back during the 2018 European Champions League Final – in a futuristic 3D recreation.

An opportunity to create lasting moments

The celebrated footballer sees NFTs as an incredible opportunity to create lasting moments. The collection was designed in cooperation with British digital artist DINES. DINES has worked on campaigns for Nike, EA Sports, Adidas, Levis, and more. Some of the proceeds will go toward Velindre Cancer Centre in Wales.

Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 for the transfer fee of EUR 100.8 million, a world record at the time. He helped the club win the 2013–14 Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League, scoring in both, in his very first season. His international debut for Wales was in May 2006. He became the youngest player to represent Wales. Since then, he’s become the country’s highest scorer in history with 33 international goals and over 90 caps.
