Constellation gains insight into millions of consumers’ spending habits with Dor acquisition, privacy protected

  • Dor completed Seed and Series A funding rounds valued at more than $15 million
  • Constellation will manage and connect Dor’s extensive foot traffic data to other large consumer datasets
  • Constellation is positioned to build the biggest mesh network in blockchain

Constellation, a distributed infrastructure hub linking big data and the blockchain, acquired the startup Dor, which helps retail brands grow by improving their customer outcomes via data analytics for store foot traffic. Dor and Constellation will work together to develop new blockchain-focused products.

Leading VC firms fund $15M+ Series A round of Dor

Founded by two former Apple engineers in 2015, Dor completed Seed and Series A funding rounds valued at more than $15 million in total. Among the entities participating in the funding were BCV, Vertex Ventures, Zetta Ventures, and other leading venture capital firms.

Constellation to acquire and codify vast foot traffic data

Following the acquisition, Constellation will manage and connect Dor’s extensive foot traffic data to other large consumer datasets. This will make it possible to provide in-depth insight into millions of consumers’ spending habits, but not at the expense of privacy.

The infrastructure hub is uniquely positioned to build the biggest mesh network in blockchain by combining Dor’s hardware with its existing mobile node infrastructure.

Ben Jorgensen, CEO of Constellation, commented:

Michael Brand, CEO of Dor, pointed out:

Constellation eliminates scalability challenges

As it’s based on a directed acyclic graph (DAG) model, the Constellation network does not face scalability challenges. This model builds a decentralized node database, which grows with data volume and can handle millions of inputs. Dor’s technology helps more than 2,000 retailers make fast, practical, data-driven decisions based on foot traffic data.
