AI lab Fetch.ai launches MOBIX Micromobility Marketplace

  • Marketplace helps further technical innovation of micromobility-related services
  • Microbility rewards people for using micromobility services aimed at reducing pollution
  • MOBIX users can earn MOBIX Miles using Fetch.ai’s distributed ledger technology

Fetch.ai, an artificial intelligence lab developing an open-access decentralized machine learning network for smart infrastructure, launched MOBIX Micromobility Marketplace in partnership with Datarella, a company providing industrial blockchain solutions, Invezz learned from a press release.

The marketplace helps further technical innovation of micromobility-related services for the future.

A viable solution to transport and environmental concerns

Almost 70% of the world’s population, expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, will live in urban areas. This massive growth necessitates viable solutions, which Micromobility can provide with services such as e-scooters and bicycles.

MOBIX Microbility will encourage people to play a more prominent role in becoming a part of those solutions by rewarding them for using micromobility services aimed at reducing pollution and urban congestion.

Humayun Sheikh, CEO of Fetch.ai commented:

Connecting micromobility providers with end users

MOBIX Marketplace wants to connect micromobility infrastructure and service providers with end users to solve the transportation challenge in metropolitan areas. MOBIX users can earn MOBIX Miles using Fetch.ai’s distributed ledger technology. They can convert the miles into MOBIX Tokens, which can be traded at cryptocurrency exchanges or used for future trips.

In essence, urban dwellers are incentivized to use micromobility, contributing to micromobility industry growth and driving sustainability initiatives.

Michael Reuter, CEO of MOBIX and Datarella, said:

MOBIX launches stakedrop

The stakedrop will give holders of Fetch’s native token FET access to the first batch of MOBX reward tokens by staking their FET on the Fetch.ai mainnet. It starts in October and ends in December.
