Google makes $5.4 billion acquisition of Mandiant

Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Google has entered a definitive agreement to purchase dynamic and cyber security company Mandiant Inc. for $5.4 billion, valuing Mandiant at $23 per share. After completing the all-cash transaction, Mandiant will be integrated with Google Cloud.

Mandiant purchase enhances Google Cloud’s capabilities

Organizations are confronted with cybersecurity threats that have increased in occurrence, severity, and variety, resulting in a worldwide security challenge. Customers can take advantage of a wide range of services like BeyondCorp Enterprise for Zero Trust and VirusTotal for suspicious material and software threats, Chronicle's planet-scale cyber security solutions and intelligent systems, as well as services like Security Command Center and Google Cloud's Cybersecurity Action Team expertise.

With the purchase of Mandiant, Google Cloud will be able to provide a complete security management package with even more features to help customers in both on-premise and cloud environments.
