AI agent ai16z rebrands to ElizaOS to enhance collaborations with web2 and web3 entities

The AI agent open-source network Ai16z is changing its brand name to ElizaOS.

Founder Shaw Walters confirmed the rebrand as the project’s remarkable growth demands “evolving to a more distinct, unified brand identity.”

Meanwhile, the project’s original name closely matched Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

According to Walters, ai16z was “a playful reference” to the venture capital firm as the AI project sought to raise $75,000 to create an autonomous investor.

However, the project’s massive growth in the blockchain world requires brand distinctions to avoid violating trademarks. Walters stated:

Ai16z saw its AUM growing 300x within three months, and it is now advancing with a unified brand while working on Eliza version 2. 

Ai16z monitors the Eliza development framework- an innovative ecosystem for building and handling AI agents.

Eliza version 2 will be the most feature-rich AI agent framework in the tech space as the developers target AGI alignment and “a real impact.”

Meanwhile, the $ai16z will retain its ticker, “with future changes to be voted on by the community,” when the project launches a DAO voting module.
