As many might already know, the IOTA blockchain network recently experienced issues that resulted in the network becoming unable to process transactions. The problem lasted for over 15 hours yesterday, and it emerged due to a ‘corrupt’ ledger state, which was created by an edge case. Basically, the IOTA Reference Implementation (IRI) failed to account for a transaction that ended up being shared between two different bundles.

Now, according to IOTA Foundation, the issue has been fixed, and the network is once again fully operational. IOTA noted that the transaction needed to be marked as ‘counted’ by one of the two bundles. Doing so caused the second one to ignore it, and the network to become unclogged once more.

Further, the Foundation also once again urged IRI node runners to update to a new version (1.8.3) which can be found on GitHub.

IOTA is now also back on Huobi

In addition to transactions on the IOTA network going through once more, IOTA is also back on the Huobi crypto exchange. The exchange suspended IOTA deposits and withdrawals recently due to the upcoming mainnet upgrade. According to reports, the project remained suspended for approximately 20 hours. However, it was recently returned, and it fully resumed its usual services.

While the issue was a simple problem, it still shows that the cryptocurrency systems have yet to find themselves in all possible situations that might emerge and cause disruptions.
