Pro-crypto attorney John Deaton seeks a chance to represent Coinbase’s 4,701 customers in the ongoing legal battle between the exchange and the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Deaton wants to speak on behalf of over 4,700 individuals who use Coinbase for their trading undertakings.

John Deaton has criticized the regulator’s approach to regulating digital assets, slamming the SEC Chair for pushing political agendas.

Before running for the Senate Seat, around 5,000 Coinbase clients, including users, small investors, and developers, had requested “to have their voices heard.”

Meanwhile, this development is the latest in the ongoing legal fight that started in June last year.

The senate candidate revealed he would fight for Coinbase customers while advocating for the financial wellness of regular people looking for better lives, not just crypto investors and traders.

The attorney has intervened in legal proceedings within the crypto market before.

For instance, Deaton represented over 6,000 XRP investors in the lawsuit between Ripple Labs and the Securities & Financial Market Commission.
