  • PancakeSwap will sunset the zero-knowledge powered platform Polygon zkEVM starting July 29, 2025.
  • Users to remove assets before the September 30, 2025 deadline.
  • Polygon Labs announced the sunsetting of Polygon zkEVM mainnet beta in June.

Decentralised exchange platform PancakeSwap is set to phase out support for the layer 2 zero-knowledge network Polygon zkEVM.

The decision comes amid Polygon Labs’ recent announcement about the Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible scaling solution, with PancakeSwap’s move to end support taken to align with the changes.

Polygon zkEVM halt: initial phase out

In June, Polygon Lab CEO Marc Boiron announced that Polygon had decided to deprecate the Polygon zkEVM mainnet beta in 2026.

As part of the ecosystem’s response to this move, PancakeSwap will initiate its own phased withdrawal of services on the Polygon zkEVM network.

The process kicks off on 29 July 2025 at 05:00 UTC, with an end to support for several key features.

These include fiat on-ramp service and farming support, which means no active farms.

PancakeSwap is also ending bridge support, discontinuing asset transfers to zkEVM.

Liquidity pool deposits for both v2 and v3 pools will also be disabled in this initial phase, PancakeSwap said.

Key deadline: September 30, 2025

More importantly, September 30, 2025, at 00:00 UTC is the deadline for users to withdraw all assets and liquidity from PancakeSwap’s Polygon zkEVM pools.

LP positions will no longer be accessible through the PancakeSwap interface after Sept. 30, as will be the bridging of assets such as ether (USDT), Ethereum (ETH) and PancakeSwap’s CAKE.

Users should therefore act before this date.

Additionally, swapping via Polygon zkEVM will be permanently removed after the September 30, 2025, deadline.

However, Polygon Labs noted in June that the transition timeline for deprecating the platform will see the zkEVM sequencer remain operational for 12 months from the date of the announcement.

Forced transactions will also be permanently enabled to allow zkEVM users to exit at any time.

But according to PancakeSwap, users should know one thing:
