Jupiter (JUP)
Jupiter is a major trading infrastructure project in the Solana ecosystem, best known for its decentralised exchange aggregator. Rather than operating as a single liquidity pool, Jupiter searches across Solana-based decentralised exchanges and automated market makers to identify efficient routes for token swaps. Its routing engine can split trades across multiple venues when that produces a better execution outcome, helping users access Solana liquidity through one interface.
The platform supports more than simple spot swaps. Jupiter offers limit orders, dollar-cost averaging tools, and bridging features designed to move assets into Solana from other networks. It also provides access to perpetual futures trading through a separate product that has been developed alongside its core aggregation service. This combination makes Jupiter both a consumer-facing trading app and a piece of backend infrastructure used by other Solana applications.
JUP is the token associated with the Jupiter ecosystem. It is primarily linked to governance, allowing holders to participate in decisions around the protocol’s direction, incentives, and community initiatives. The token reflects Jupiter’s role as one of Solana’s most widely used DeFi venues, but its value remains exposed to crypto-market conditions, competition among aggregators, Solana network activity, and the platform’s ability to retain trading volume.
