Quai Network (QUAI)

Quai Network is a Layer 1 blockchain project designed around a network of interoperable execution chains rather than a single monolithic ledger. Its architecture uses merge mining, allowing miners to secure multiple chains at the same time, and is built to increase throughput by adding more execution shards as demand grows.

The project’s core technical idea is Proof-of-Entropy-Minima, or PoEM, a consensus model intended to coordinate many blockchains while reducing the bottlenecks that typically arise when validators or miners must agree on activity across multiple shards. By separating execution across parallel chains, Quai aims to support high transaction capacity while preserving composability between different parts of the network.

Quai targets use cases that require fast block production and low-cost settlement, including payments, decentralised finance, gaming, and other high-frequency on-chain applications. The network is described as a multithreaded execution environment, with frequent block creation designed to make the user experience closer to conventional digital payment systems than to slower blockchain networks.

The QUAI token is associated with the operation and economic security of the network. As with other Layer 1 crypto assets, its relevance depends on adoption by developers, users, miners, and applications that need scalable base-layer infrastructure. Quai’s distinctive proposition is its attempt to combine proof-of-work-style security with a sharded execution model that can expand over time, positioning it as a blockchain focused on scalability without relying primarily on external layer-2 systems.
