CEO Elon Musk Expresses Confidence In The Futuristic Design

CEO Elon Musk of Tesla expressed confidence in the futuristic design of the electric pickup truck and claimed it to have bulletproof strength while the vehicle was priced at only $39,900 that is significantly lower than the upper-end pickup trucks by the competitors like GM Motors, Ford Motor Company, and Fiat Chrysler.

The claim, however, collapsed to the ground during Cyberpunk’s demonstration earlier in November as a metal ball thrown at the vehicle ended up shattering its window. While Musk sidestepped the incident with a joke that the design wasn’t that bad but there is room for improvement, experts had anticipated the truck’s demand to take a hit following the incident.

The recent development, on the other hand, depicts none of it to have happened with the American automotive and energy company, leading to a debate in the financial market as to whether or not the shattered windows was a public stunt by Tesla.

As of Saturday, following the incident at the Cyberpunk’s unveiling, CEO Elon Musk commented that the company has already received around 150,000 orders for its electric pickup truck. He further added that 42% of the orders are for dual, 41% are for tri, and 17% of the orders are for single motor. The CEO also brought attention to the fact that Tesla has so far not spent a dime on paid endorsements or advertisements for the Cyberpunk electric truck.

While the company expresses confidence in its futuristic design, Wall Street has expressed doubts and concerns regarding the design on Friday. CEO Elon Musk went to the extent of commenting harshly on the durability, power, and design of the mainstream pickup trucks. The shattered windows of its electric truck on the unveiling, therefore, came as a huge shock for the company and spectators alike.

Nonetheless, the stunt added up to the popularity of the cybertruck making it a trending hashtag on Twitter. According to Tesla’s website, potential customers are only required to make a measly $100 payment upfront in order to secure a booking for the Cyberpunk electric truck. The truck is expected to go into production by late 2021.
