T-Systems MMS, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, will use its infrastructure to participate the public blockchain network Polkadot (DOT/USD) as a validator, Market Screener reported. Moreover, T-Systems MMS has acquired DOT tokens and helps maintain interoperability between decentralized blockchain networks. DOT is the ninth biggest cryptocurrency in the world by market cap.

Solving issues with lack of interoperability

Polkadot makes efforts to solve the lack of interoperability between blockchains. These are usually data silos. Polkadot’s central chain, its relay chain, achieves this by coordinates the interactions between parachains, which are different, but parallel networks. T Systems MMS supports the secure and trustworthy exchange of messages between independent blockchains by participating in the Polkadot network as a validator.

Open Telekom used to secure infrastructure

Deutsche Telekom will use the Open Telekom Cloud to ensure secure exploitation of the infrastructure. Open Telekom Cloud fulfills the strict legal requirements for safety and compliance in Europe. The autonomy of the Open Telekom Cloud facilitates blockchain network resilience by supports blockchain decentralization.

Dr. Andreas Dittrich, Head of the Blockchain Solutions Center at T-Systems MMS, said:

As Deutsche Telekom, we have always supported the collaboration of people and companies, now also with decentralized technologies. Polkadot is a heterogeneous, multi-chain network allowing various blockchains of different characteristics to perform arbitrary, cross-chain communication under shared security. We fully believe in this future vision of a connected world.
