Ankr and Maxihost partner to further Web3 growth

  • Partnership marks the metal company’s entry into the worlds of blockchain and Web3
  • Better distribution of Ankr’s global node network to promote growth of Web3 services, apps, and platforms
  • Meeting urgent need to improve node distribution, two-fifths of ETH nodes are in US

Bare metal supplier Maxihost and Ankr, a leading software platform and decentralized infrastructure provider, have entered into a strategic partnership, Invezz learned from a press release.

Maxihost enters Web3 and blockchain

The partnership marks the metal company’s entry into the worlds of blockchain and Web3. Their global cloud platform will monetize existing unused server capacity in exchange for payment in ANKR, which Ankr will make for them to run blockchain nodes via the platform on their customized, high-quality servers.

At the same time, the partnership will enable better distribution of Ankr’s global node network to promote growth of Web3 services, apps, and platforms.

Meeting urgent need for improved node distribution

There is an urgent need to improve node distribution because approx. two-fifths of all Ethereum (ETH/USD) nodes are hosted in the United States. To improve decentralization, Maxihost will assist Ankr in optimizing internode communication latency and expanding global networks through its platform. Maxihost’s platform is accessible in Europe, North America, the Asian Pacific, and Latin America.

Josh Neuroth, Ankr’s Head of Product, said:

Guilherme Soubihe Alberto, CEO of Maxihost, added:

Bare metal servers launching in South America in February

Maxihost will deliver more than 100 servers to Ankr at 13 locations across the globe. Two locations are opening in February 2022 – in Buenos Aires and Bogotá - to help improve Ankr’s regional performance.

Maxihost uses top-quality, highly scalable AMD servers to accommodate exponential blockchain growth. Their bare metal is chain agnostic, which will allow Ankr to support full RPC nodes on each blockchain it supports, including Ethereum, Fantom (FTM/USD), Solana (SOL/USD), and more.
