  • Chainlink VRF brings tamper-proof randomness to smart contract applications
  • The first 3,000 collectors on Chainlink accounted for over 9% of OpenSea’s total revenue last August
  • Chainlink VRF will be integrated into the backend of all Metalink platform giveaways

Metalink, the social app for NFT communities, has integrated Chainlink (LINK/USD) Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Ethereum Mainnet (ETH/USD) to randomize platform giveaways, Invezz learned from a press release.

Users verify giveaway competitions independently

Chainlink VRF brings tamper-proof randomness to smart contract applications, making sure Metalink’s users can verify giveaway competitions independently. Metalink is using leading Chainlink technology for enhanced transparency to support the company’s commitment to its collector base.

Jake Udell, CEO and Founder of Metalink commented:

Launchpad coordinates giveaways

This approach builds on Metalink’s Launchpad, which has coordinated some high-profile NFT giveaways successfully. Late last year, Coolman’s Universe became available on the launchpad. It generated trading volume of more than $50 million within three months of the launch.

Chainlink VRF will be integrated into the backend of all Metalink platform giveaways to provide a greater standard of randomness when determining award recipients.

Tomasz Wojewoda, Head of Global Sales at Chainlink Labs added:

The first 3,000 collectors on Chainlink accounted for over 9% of OpenSea’s total revenue in August last year, exceeding $350 million. This integration testifies to Metalink's commitment to security. It will premiere with a giveaway for Deadfellaz collectors.

Deadfellaz founder Betty said:

Highly secure, feature-rich technology

Chainlink VRF works by combining the oracle node’s pre-committed private key and block data that is still unknown when the request is made. This generates proof as well as a random number.

The Metalink smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof.
