Apple Inc.'s iPhone sales in China surged by 52% in April compared to the same period last year, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) released on Tuesday.

This significant increase highlights Apple's growing presence in the Chinese market.

Overall market performance

In April, the total number of smartphone shipments in China reached 24.07 million units, marking a 28.8% increase year-over-year.

Of these shipments, 20.58 million units were produced by Chinese brands, while 3.49 million units were from foreign brands, including Apple.

Year-to-date sales growth

From January to April, a total of 91.48 million units were sold in China, reflecting a 12.3% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

This upward trend underscores the robust demand for smartphones in the Chinese market, with Apple making notable gains.
