Netherlands-based fintech company Quantoz Payments has announced the appointment of Arjen Van Klaarbergen as its new General Counsel.

The addition of Van Klaarbergen, a qualified lawyer with nearly two decades of experience in financial services and digital assets, marks a strategic move as the company continues to expand its regulatory-compliant product offerings.

Van Klaarbergen joins Quantoz from Binance, where he served as Head of Legal for the EU and UK.

During his tenure, he dealt with some of the most complex legal challenges in the digital asset, blockchain, and Web3 sectors.

Prior to joining Binance, Van Klaarbergen held positions at the banking platform IBANXS and at NautaDutilh, one of the Netherlands’ leading law firms, where he advised extensively on financial regulation and corporate governance.

He brings deep expertise in anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, and fraud.

His arrival follows Quantoz’s November 2024 launch of MiCAR-compliant stablecoins — EURQ and USDQ — pegged to the euro and US dollar, respectively.

These stablecoins are aimed at enabling secure and regulated transfers in secondary markets and across cryptocurrency exchanges.

Van Klaarbergen’s regulatory experience is expected to strengthen Quantoz’s legal and compliance framework as it navigates an increasingly regulated digital finance landscape.
