Samsung is joining forces with Coinbase, one of the cryptocurrency industry’s largest companies, to expand crypto access to over 75 million Samsung Galaxy users in the United States.

In an announcement, Coinbase said the partnership with the South Korea-based multinational electronics company will see owners of Galaxy devices in the US explore cryptocurrencies via Coinbase One, the exchange's all-in-one trading service.

While the initial rollout of the integration targets US users, the companies plan to expand this to other countries and jurisdictions.

Samsung Wallet users in the US can tap into a free 3-month subscription offer when connecting to Coinbase One.

The companies are also offering a free $25 credit promotion for Samsung Wallet users when they make their first trade.

Specifically, the integration will allow Galaxy users to tap into the Samsung Wallet feature for crypto services offered by Coinbase One.

Galaxy owners can tap into Samsung Wallet to access the Coinbase app, with this allowing them to trade and explore other opportunities in the crypto space.

Features on offer for users looking to take this route into the digital asset market include zero-fee trading, staking rewards, and seamless crypto spending and earning.

Users will also access priority support and exclusive partner deals, among others.

The integration gives Galaxy users more ways to participate in the crypto market.

Samsung announced support for Samsung Pay on Coinbase in July, with the payment method’s rollout bringing a deposit option to the Coinbase app for users.

As the Samsung wallet combines both the Samsung Pass and Samsung Pay into one app, users are able to handle things like peer-to-peer payments, crypto transactions and many other digital activities, including digital keys, IDs, and memberships.

Blackard added that Coinbase's role as a leader in the crypto industry makes it "the ideal partner" as the electronics giant looks to bring crypto to its users.
